3 Simple Reflections and Pictures!

1 – JOIN THE 1000YOUNGLEADER TEAM IF YOU’RE IN PHOENIX THIS WEEK!  (OR… invite PLI to come share about 1000YL and sending missionaries into the 74.3 million millennial mission field when someone on the PLI team is in your neighborhood.) They’re introducing 1000YoungLeaders at the opening workshop of the Best Practices in Ministry conference at 1 PM today (Thursday) in Room 21. If you’re at BPM, get a closer look at 1000YL or stop by the PLI table.

2 – Take a look at the collage of pictures below. Gail and I just returned from a week with our gifted international directors Scott and Lori Rische with the Ethiopian Kale Heywet Church (EKHC) and Ethiopian Evangelical Church Makane Yesus (EECMY). The EECMY and EKHC are the two largest Protestant denominations in Ethiopia, each having over 9 million members. They demonstrate an eagerness to grow in greater character and competence for the sake of the Mission of God.

3 – MASS SHOOTING IN AURORA, IL. The first news we picked up navigating back into the United States was the mass shooting by a terminated former employee who apparently brought his gun to the termination meeting. We obviously know so many in the community, our former congregation, area pastors, police and sheriff’s deputies, etc.  Gail and I are deeply grieved and unusually startled by the closeness of this attack. Thank you to Lutheran Church Charities and their congregations with 29 Comfort Dogs spending Tuesday in every Aurora school! A simple request to join us in praying for the community where we lived in and served for so many years.
