The Discipleship to Missional Community Learning Community (D2MC) teaches church leaders a specific rhythm that can be repeated over and over again to help people become closer followers of Christ…and join with others to be a people on mission.
“Leaders looking to start and multiply missional communities are leaders that disciple leaders for mission–that disciple leaders for mission. As a member of Discipleship to Missional Community, you will be surrounded by pioneers eager to witness wider Gospel influence with people often distant from the church. You’ll learn the simple rhythms of life and discipleship that multiply leaders for mission.” Gail Ficken, Trainer for D2MC
PLI’s Discipleship to Missional Community has the hallmark qualities of the proven PLI learning experience that past alumni rave about. Pastors and spouses discovering together as their own unique “team”. Collegial learning complemented with coaching that produce ongoing encouragement and accountability. Additionally, PLI’s D2MC features key staff or lay leader involvement. When one or more key leaders are learning alongside their pastor and spouse, the journey gets easier.
Nothing has changed since Jesus challenged his disciples to “Go and Make Disciples” and yet everything has. The commitment to discipling ordinary people who disciple others can give birth to fresh expressions of the extraordinary mission of God.
The Learning Community Journey
Your Learning Community journey with PLI lasts two and a half years and includes a total of five three-day immersions. The immersions occur twice a year (approximately every six months).
At the end of every immersion experience, you will leave with an actionable six-month plan to implement at your congregation to incrementally achieve your Spirit-led goals.
We believe that the immersion and coaching experience provide the right combination of instruction and interaction for us to provide you the tools and lay a foundation for building a culture of mission in your faith community.
